[Tech] Internet Explorer, buon ultimo, bandisce i pop-up

Microsoft ha intenzione di aggiungere una funzionalità di blocco delle finestre pop-up (tanto care a certi pubblicitari) nel suo Service Pack 2 per Windows XP, la cui distribuzione è prevista per il prossimo anno.

Darin Linnman, a Microsoft spokesman, said that the company plans to add the pop-up blocking feature to an updated version of Explorer with Service Pack 2 (SP2) when it's released in the first half of next year. But one caveat, he said, is that Microsoft will be gathering customer feedback that will be weighed as part of the final decision to add the feature.

Internet Explorer arriva buon ultimo: già da molto tempo i suoi principali concorrenti in ambiente Windows (Opera, Netscape, Mozilla, Firebird) offrono agli utenti la possibilità di bloccare questo veicolo di pubblicità indesiderata, giudicato negativamente negli USA dall'88% degli utenti broadband e dall'87% degli utenti dial-up.
