[Tech] Hard disk ATA da 400 GB da Hitachi

Hitachi Global Storage Technologies ha presentato un hard disk ATA da 3,5" della capacità di 400 GB.

Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Hitachi GST) today announced the world’s highest capacity 3.5-inch ATA hard drive, the 400GB Deskstar 7K400. The new drive has been designed for audio video (AV) and ATA nearline environments, where large capacities and a lower per-gigabyte cost are key requirements. A new industry-standard AV feature set makes the drive well-suited for use in high-end digital video recorders (DVRs) that are designed to record substantial amounts of high-quality digital programming.

Hitachi GST afferma che il suo nuovo nato merita a pieno titolo l'appellativo di Storage King: in realtà in gennaio LaCie aveva presentato un hard disk (esterno, in quel caso) della capacità di 1 Terabyte (1000 GB) battezzato giustamente Bigger Disk.
