ZDNet e OSI annunciano i primi Open Source Awards

OSI (Open Source Initiative), una organizzazione no-profit, sta promuovendo quelli che nelle intenzioni dovrebbero diventare i "premi Nobel" dell'Open Source.



Gli Open Source Awards premieranno quegli individui che nel corso dell'anno avranno fornito un significativo contributo alla comunità Open Source.



Il premio principale è il Grand Master Award:

"This award will be given to persons with an outstanding record of contributions to the open-source and Internet cultures. Ideal candidates will have a record not only of technical excellence but also of community leadership and service. Along with the recognition as Grand Master, the recipient will receive $10,000 and an entailed invitation to serve as Elector on the Collegium that will issue the awards."

I premi "minori" oscillano fra i 500 e i 1.500 dollari.
